Heidy Merius is a Clinical Instructor Nurse Practitioner at Stony Brook Medicine
in Long Island, New York where she cares for adults with Sleep Disorders that
include sleep apnea, insomnia, parasomnias, hypersomnias, and circadian rhythm
disorders. She also engages in research in her clinical population and has
successfully published in peer reviewed journals.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Nursing at Stony Brook
University where she also successfully completed their Bachelor of Science to
Doctor of Nursing Practice Program passing the board certification for the Adult
Nurse Practitioner. Heidy Merius graduated as a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
Scholar in 2014 and a Jonas Nurse Leader Scholar in 2016.

As a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, she was involved in an
APP Task Force in 2021 and volunteered to review APP certificate modules in
2023.

Heidy is passionate about community education in Sleep Medicine and has given
several talks the public to promote awareness of Sleep Health and Sleep
Disorders. She strives to deliver passionate evidence-based care and to
encourage growth in the sleep medicine field amongst advanced practice
providers.
